The Red Rock is in LA!

I know it's been long time no blog Red Rock fans, but this is a big one... As if the triumph of our first black president, barack obama, being elected wasn?t enough, your beloved ?little film company that could? is now putting the proverbial flag down in tinsel town.  Chi-town was a blast, but the Red Rock has moved to Hollywood!  Well?Culver City/LA adjacent to be exact, LOL.  This past August, I, Nadia Garnier, RDF Inc. President/CEO, packed my bags and hauled tail West.  And after 2 hardcore days of driving for 15 hours per day, with 2 kittens in tow, the Red Rock landed in LA safe and sound.  I joined the LA branch of Women In Film, which is turning out to be quite rewarding.  Along with great networking, and learning events, WIF offers members lots of advanced screenings to new films.  Through WIF I?ve seen Pacino and DeNiro in rare form in Righteous kill, Keira Knightley totally earning an Oscar nom in my opinion in The Duchess, and Dakota Fanning blowing my mind yet again in The Secret Life of Bees.  This little woman has chops that just keep giving.  Everyone should see this movie, but BRING TISSUES!  I will be working on some upcoming WIF PSA?s so I will keep you posted.

On a fun personal note, Sony Pictures is right across the street from my new church St. Augustine?s.  And I?m doing some acting (or at least trying to get in where I fit in) on the side, so you all might see me in Heavy D?s new music video ?Long Distance Girlfriend?.  The shoot was long and hard, but Director Frank E. Flowers was so chill and on top of his game I really learned something watching him.  I also was blessed to meet Heavy, Nia Long (his love interest in the video), and Chris Tucker who was on set supporting his friends.  Too too awesome!  Heavy was very sweet.  Nia was gorgeous, professional and very down to earth.  And Chris just laid low and chilled.  It was fun dancing to Heavy's song and I hope I get to do more projects like this.  (See Pictures Here)

I?ve gotten some great feedback on my scripts for the Light and Unrequited, so I?m taking both ideas in a whole new, even better, direction and the 2nd drafts are underway.  Through all of the great WIF networking events I?ve met some people who actually want to help me make things happen, so I will be writing and acting and working and praying and I hope you all pray for me too because I need it.  Thanks and God Bless.
